Bowel Cancer is the third most common cancer in the UK and when it comes to cancer deaths, it’s the second biggest killer. It affects men and women, particularly those who are over 60. However the sooner it is diagnosed, the better the chances are of survival.
Bowel cancer screening aims to find bowel cancer early, when treatment is more likely to be successful. If you've received a bowel cancer screening kit, put it by the loo to remind you to do it.
Everyone aged 54 to 74 years who is registered with a GP and lives in England is automatically sent an NHS bowel cancer screening kit every 2 years.

In the video, Mufti Falahi talks about receiving an NHS bowel cancer screening kit in the post, if you are aged between 54-74, and how important it is to complete the test. However, the programme is gradually expanding to also make it available to everyone aged 50 to 53 years.
Mufti Falahi also goes through the instructions in the bowel screening test to make the process as simple as possible.
