Now in its ninth year, the careers event is organised and delivered by Blackburn with Darwen’s New Directions team.
It's aim is to inform and inspire young people about the options available once they leave school.
Almost 2000 young people attended the event from BwD secondary schools, as well as some young people who are not currently engaged in education, employment or training (NEET).
Cllr Julie Gunn, the Council’s Executive Member for Children, Young People and Education, attended the event and said:
“Our commitment to our young people includes giving them all the opportunities to make informed choices about their career options.
“Events like Blackburn’s Inspiring prepare them for their future and help support that vision.
“They’ve always been a great success and it’s lovely to meet the ambitious young people who attend. Thank you to all the staff who help organise the events, our schools for attending and the businesses in the borough for supporting.”
68 exhibits were on offer on the day, made up of both education and training providers as well as local employers.
There were hands-on learning opportunities through many excellent interactive activities, as well as a chance for inspiring conversations with employers and learning providers.
The event offers an opportunity for local businesses to meet with their potential future employees!
Exhibitors included Further Education Colleges, school sixth forms and local training providers, as well as Higher Education providers.
Employers present included BAE Systems, EG on the Move, Forbes Solicitors, Graham and Brown, Army Careers and Vital Energi Utilities Ltd and more.
The event was also supported by third sector organisations such as Chip In and Blackburn and Darwen Youth Zone.
