Little Saplings is suitable for toddlers aged 6 months to 5 years, accompanied at the sessions by a parent or carer.
Little Saplings is designed to nurture independent outdoor play for little ones, while supporting parents and carers to reconnect with nature and improve their mental health and wellbeing.
Inspired by the Forest School ethos, sessions last between 1 - 1.5 hours offering child-led outdoor free-play, enabling each child to play at their own pace and in their own unique way.
Using a 4 Steps to Nature approach (Notice - Think - Act - Reflect), the first ‘Meet and Greet’ session is the perfect introduction to a range of age-appropriate activities, including minibeast hunting, natural crafts, story time and woodland play.
All sessions are run by an experienced Outdoor Learning Officer
Sessions are suitable for additional needs and disabilities. Each site is wheelchair and pram friendly with level paths and easy access.
Please contact the Outdoor Learning Officer prior to the visit, with any specific requirements, disabilities, or health concerns. This will help to ensure any adjustments and support you may need are in place.
